BBC News reports that spelling mistakes cost millions in lost online sales and that a single spelling mistake can cut your sales figures in half. Need an editor?It's entirely too easy to read what's in your mind instead of what you've actually typed. Then you send out your business letter or bid or whatever, and then you see that glaring embarrassing typo that you missed. Then you cringe, and hope it was someone else's mistake and not yours. Let your business team focus on what they do best. I'll focus on catching your misspellings, typos, unclear wording, and grammatical mistakes, because that's what I do best. If you've got a tight deadline, let me know what it is and I'll try my best to meet it. Otherwise, my usual turnaround time is 24 hours or less. I've always taken pride in my attention to detail and my knowledge of written English, and all my editing and proofreading includes unlimited revisions. This list of "what I specialize in" will seem a bit long, but to tell you the truth, it's probably not even complete.
Basically, I'm one of those nuts who can't read a printed book or a magazine without wanting to whip out my red pen. Mistakes jump out at me when I'm not even looking for them. I like turning on Tracking in MS Word, so you can see all my suggestions and Accept/Reject/Ignore each one individually. There's another school of thought which I think was summed up best by Kerry Larkin, who said "I don't want to edit my editor." That works too. You're the author, not me. I've edited and proofread over 300 published textbooks and novels. Here's some of the nonfiction. I'm American, but you don't have to be.
