Other Editors I Know and Recommend
What if you realize you need an editor, but you feel like I'm not your best choice? Or what if I feel like I'm not your best choice?
It does happen.
Here's a list of people I know, have worked with, and recommend. Proofreaders, editors, and writers too.
Don't ask to be included on this list. If I don't know you personally, and know you well, it ain't gonna happen.
- Alice Osborn
An excellent editor who specializes in fiction, creative nonfiction, memoir and poetry. Basically, everything I don't.
- Bernhardt Editing Services Inc.
Copy editing and proofreading for corporations, small businesses, publishing houses, academia, communication firms, nonprofits, and other organizations.
- Derek Lewis
The best business ghostwriter I know. This is the person to call if you want to write a book.
- DTS Translation Services
DTS was originally "Duke Translation Services," created in 1972 as the in-house translation arm for Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. DTS was privately acquired in 1985, and continued to build on its reputation for high service standards.
- Diana Needham
Marketing strategy for authors. This is who you call if you want to ensure your book sells much better than my writing ever did.
- Emily Crookston, The Pocket PhD
Emily's a badass professional copywriter who will create the copy you need to tell the unique story of you and your brand, regardless of whether or not you tell her I said she's badass.
- Jennifer Holmes
She provides medical editing services, same as me, but she also does medical writing. I don't.
- Jess Romaine Editorial Services
Who edits the editor? Well, the last time I needed somebody, I hired Jess, and I wouldn't hesitate to hire her again.
- Maggie Peltier
Writer and personal historian. I've written my own life story, but I can't help you write yours. That's why you need Maggie Peltier.
- Malone Editorial Services
Developmental editing for fiction and nonfiction. She also publishes one of my favorite blogs, and you can subscribe to that free.
- Pat Fontana
Writing and editing for your business. And if that makes her sound like a competitor, it's because she is. But not really. Because, as I mentioned before, my only competitor is an unedited document.
- Richard Evans
Indexing is alive and well, and it's a valuable skill that I don't have. Talk to Richard Evans at Potomac Indexing. No computer can do his job.
