Elevator Pitch

No wait, that's not right.

It's a good thing I don't write commercial jingles.

I'm a proofreader. And an editor.

And I write novels, but nobody wants to hear about that.

My name is Michael LaRocca. My company is called Michael Edits. I've been in business since 1999.

Before that I was the in-house editing department for an engineering firm for 8 years.

Proofreading and editing are different, but I just lump them together. They both mean I make your writing the best it can be.

According to Robert Cormier, the beautiful part of writing is that you don’t have to get it right the first time, unlike, say, a brain surgeon.

The other beautiful thing about writing is that you can get some help.

That doesn't mean AI.

If you have to use AI to get started, go for it. Just don't stop there. AI raises the floor. But it also lowers the ceiling.

Some companies have in-house editing departments. They don't need me.

Some companies get all their brochures and stuff from a corporate office. They don't need me.

But for everybody else.... here I am.

Right now my customer base includes newsletters, books, patent applications, and for the past 18 years, Cigar Snob Magazine.

Do what you do best and farm out the rest.
